Patrick Bansho Green is a resident teacher and priest at Great Vow Zen Monastery, a residential center for intensive Zen training in Clatskanie, Oregon. He has practiced with his teachers Chozen Bays and Hogen Bays since 2004 and received Lay Transmission from his teachers in 2019 . He led the effort to found Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple in Portland, Oregon (2010). Bansho worked for twenty years in the labor movement leading social and economic justice electoral and legislative campaigns. He is married to lay Zen Teacher Laura Jomon Martin and lives full time at Great Vow Zen Monastery.
